Santo Domingo.- U.S. Ambassador to the Dominican Republic Leah Campos revealed on Tuesday that the Biden administration exerted political pressure on Dominican authorities to keep the border with Haiti open. She made the statement during the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (AMCHAMDR) luncheon.
Campos noted that the pressure stemmed from Washington’s concerns over the deepening crisis in Haiti, emphasizing that instability in the neighboring nation poses a security threat not only to the Dominican Republic but also to the United States.
“I am committed to working with President Abinader and the private sector to find solutions that reduce this threat and help stabilize Haiti. The goal is for Haitians to live in a peaceful and safe country, which they deserve,” she said.
The ambassador reiterated her commitment to supporting efforts to restore stability in Haiti. She also thanked President Luis Abinader for his work in combating drug trafficking, money laundering, and human trafficking, highlighting the progress achieved in recent years.

If anything goes south in the Trump administration… Biden gets the blame. The open border has to be blamed on the Dominican government.
And that is why I will NEVER vote Democrat ever again.
