10 injured after bus overturns on Samaná Highway

Samaná.- At least 10 people were injured this Holy Thursday after a passenger bus overturned in a traffic accident on the Northeast Highway (Santo Domingo–Samaná), near the third tollbooth.

According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred when an SUV collided with the bus, causing the driver to lose control and the vehicle to overturn. The crash took place near the entrance to El Aguacate de Arenoso, as the bus was transporting passengers to Santa Bárbara de Samaná.

Authorities have confirmed that no fatalities have been reported so far, while the injured were treated at the scene as they awaited additional emergency units. The whereabouts of the bus driver remain unknown, adding uncertainty to the circumstances of the accident.

An investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the incident.
