NYC monument to honor Dominican soldiers in WWII

New York.- A monument, the first of its kind, will be inaugurated tomorrow Friday in the Bronx to immortalize Dominican soldiers in World War II.

The memorial is the initiative of Dominican councilman from the Bronx, Fernando Cabrera, and has the support of the Bronx Community College and the Center for Dominican Studies at the City University of New York (CUNY), headed by social activist Dr. Ramona Hernández.

The ceremony, in which officials and military representatives will participate, is scheduled for 10am at 2255 University Avenue in the Bronx.
