Medina pledges works for tourism powerhouse southeast

Bayahibe, Dominican Republic.- President Danilo Medina on Sun. pledged several infrastructure works and other demanded measures to improve living conditions and strengthen tourism in the southeast region.

Community leaders asked Medina to improve the health system, a new school, construction of an aqueduct, improved electric service, maritime transport, support for the fishermen’s association and the reconstruction of homes.

The Government and the community agreed to work together to turn the area into a model tourist attraction the country.

The Head of State also visited Catuano and Mano Juan, both on Isla Saona.
