Boca Chica hosts opening of 2026 Easter Games across 18 provinces

Boca Chica.- The 2026 Easter Games officially kicked off with an opening ceremony in Boca Chica, led by Sports Minister Kelvin Cruz, marking the return of the event after several years.

The initiative brings recreational and sports activities to families across 18 provinces and 24 locations nationwide during the Holy Week period, aiming to promote healthy leisure and tourism. Authorities encouraged widespread participation, highlighting the games as an alternative attraction for vacationers across the country.

Supported by institutions such as the Emergency Operations Center, National Police, and tourism and safety agencies, the program includes activities like beach volleyball, basketball, boxing, softball, and traditional games. Events are being held in key destinations including Jarabacoa, Las Terrenas, Juan Dolio, and Sosúa, with trained staff overseeing activities through the weekend.
