INDEX opens Arezzo office to strengthen ties with Dominican diaspora in Italy
Italy.- Celinés Toribio, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Executive Director of the Institute of Dominicans Abroad (INDEX), completed a work agenda in Italy focused on strengthening institutional and community ties with the Dominican diaspora. A key milestone was the inauguration of the first INDEX office in Arezzo, attended by Ambassador Rafael Lantigua and headed by Julio César Garden Regalado, director of INDEX-Italy.
Her agenda featured two major community meetings: in Rome, a gathering with women leaders from the diaspora, organized by the World Women Talent System (WWTS) and the Confederation of Dominican Associations in Italy; and in Arezzo, the event “A Coffee with the Dominican Community in Italy,” where representatives from 70 organizations discussed promoting Dominican culture and shared their concerns.
The official visit also included institutional meetings in the Italian Senate at Palazzo Madama with Senator Francesca La Marca, and at the Chamber of Deputies in Palazzo Montecitorio. Toribio reinforced collaboration with Consuls General Adolfo Pineda (Genoa) and Rómulo García (Greece), as well as Honorary Consul in Naples, Elio Pacífico.
