Edesur installs a more powerful transformer in Neiba
Neiba, Bahoruco—Edesur Dominicana installed a higher-powered transformer in the substation of the Neiba municipality to guarantee more stable and quality service in seventeen sectors of this demarcation.
The equipment, with a 24 to 30-megavolt ampere capacity, will optimize the electrical energy supply in the Neiba 101, 102, and 103 circuits to benefit Edesur users directly.
The operation represents a significant advance in the municipality’s electrical infrastructure since the transformer to be replaced has been in operation for more than twenty years.
The decision is part of the work to strengthen and improve the efficiency of the energy service ordered by President Luis Abinader to guarantee greater stabilization.
The transformer that will be replaced has a capacity of 16 to 20 megavolt amperes and operates under overload due to the country’s increased energy capacity.
The equipment is replaced by one with the capacity to meet the energy growth of the area.
Among the sectors that will benefit from improvements in the supply of electricity are Puerto Plata, El Caamaño, El Centro, Las Malvinas, Buenos Aires, Las Filipinas, Vista al Lago, La Colonia, El Manguito, Santa Cruz, El Tanque, La J, Cachón Seco, La Cuaba, Cerro al Medio, El Tejar, and the urban area of the municipality.
Also, Loma de los Peñascos, Ojeda, Galván, El Salado, El Tamarindo, Fuente de Rodeo, El Estero, Villa Jaragua, Las Clavellinas, Los Ríos, Postrer Rio, Loma de Guayabal, La Descubierta, Los Pinos del Edén, Bartolomé, Boca de Cachón and Tierra Nueva.
Edesur affirms that the incorporation of the higher power transformer will provide a more reliable service to meet the population’s demand and prevent future interruptions.
