Christmas Eve Weather: Indomet predicts rain and wind across the Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo.- The National Meteorological Office (Indomet) forecasts continued effects from a weakened frontal system and moderate northeast winds on Christmas Eve. This system, located northeast of the island over the Atlantic Ocean, will bring light to moderate rains, occasional heavy downpours, thunderstorms, and gusty winds, particularly in the afternoon.
Affected areas include provinces along the Atlantic coast, Central Mountain Range, northeast, and southeast regions such as Monte Cristi, Dajabón, Puerto Plata, Samaná, Duarte, and La Altagracia. The National District and Greater Santo Domingo will experience partly cloudy skies with intermittent light to moderate rainfall.
Indomet has adjusted weather alert levels due to changes in rainfall intensity and frequency, urging residents to remain cautious as conditions evolve.
