Santo Domingo.- Médico Express San Isidro and the Dominican Republic’s National Amateur Baseball Academy (ANBARD), affiliated with the Los Angeles Dodgers, have signed a landmark agreement aimed at strengthening the overall health and performance of young Dominican baseball talent.

Under the partnership, players, coaches, and academy staff will gain priority access to Médico Express’ broad portfolio of specialized medical services, ranging from sports medicine and orthopedic care to advanced radiology, cardiology, neurology, pulmonology, ophthalmology, and more. The clinic, a leader in Santo Domingo Este, is recognized for its preventive medicine model, patient-centered care, and use of cutting-edge technology.

Holistic care for high performance

The agreement focuses on prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment of conditions linked to high-level sports training. “Sports and health must move forward together,” said Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso, executive president of Médico Express. “This alliance allows us to foster a culture of prevention and ensure early diagnoses that enhance both performance and quality of life.”

Francesco Fino, vice president of Médico Express, added: “This reflects our mission to promote well-being and human development. We are providing young Dominican athletes with access to world-class medical services that contribute to their growth on and off the field.”

Raising standards in athlete preparation

For ANBARD, the partnership represents a key step in developing future ambassadors of Dominican sports. “Having a medical ally like Médico Express elevates our level of preparation,” said César Jesús Negrette Javier, president of ANBARD. “It ensures our players meet international health and performance standards.”

The agreement also incorporates strict anti-doping protocols in line with the U.S.-based Drug Free Sport Association. Any treatment involving restricted substances will require prior approval from the academy’s medical team, reinforcing transparency and compliance with sports regulations.

International health model

Médico Express is the only healthcare center in Central America and the Caribbean accredited by Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA) and certified by Fitwel. With more than 40 specialties, bilingual services, and modern facilities, the clinic delivers care aligned with the highest global standards of safety, ethics, and patient experience.

This alliance underscores a shared commitment by Médico Express and ANBARD to responsible athlete development, integrating health, performance, and values to secure the future of Dominican baseball.
