U.S. Embassy denounces fake AI video on deportations

Santo Domingo.- The United States Embassy in the Dominican Republic has warned the public about a fake video generated with artificial intelligence showing President Donald Trump allegedly announcing the suspension of deportations and granting work permits to immigrants.

Through its X account, the embassy clarified that the video is a scam created by human traffickers (“coyotes”) to deceive migrants. It urged people not to fall victim to such fraudulent content, noting that immigration scams are increasingly using AI tools.

Earlier this month, Trump acknowledged the challenge of replacing migrant labor, especially in agriculture, but stressed that his administration’s deportation policy remains unchanged, despite seeking ways to avoid negative impacts on the farming sector.
