Santo Domingo to host 14th Central American and Caribbean Arbitration Convention

Santo Domingo.- This year, Santo Domingo will host the 14th edition of the Central American and Caribbean Convention of Arbitration Centers from October 16 to 18 at the Sheraton Santo Domingo Hotel. The convention will focus on “Trends in Arbitration in the Region and its Growing Use in New Areas of Law.”

The event will feature four key discussion panels covering topics such as arbitration efficiency, the role of arbitration institutions, corruption issues, and the expansion of arbitration into new legal areas. Alongside these panels, there will be simultaneous activities, including the launch of the Dominican Very Young Arbitration Practitioners association and workshops by the International Bar Association and the Latin American Arbitration Association.

Organized by the Santo Domingo Court of Arbitration, an independent body under the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santo Domingo, the convention will bring together dispute resolution experts from across Latin America. According to Ramón Ortega, President of the Court, the event will provide participants with tools to develop effective conflict resolution strategies. Secretary General Eugenia Brache added that the convention offers valuable opportunities to enhance legal skills and network with other professionals in the field.
