Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Culture has announced the 26th edition of the Santo Domingo International Book Fair (FILSD 2024), set for November 7-17 at the Juan Pablo Duarte Cultural Plaza. The fair will honor writer Mateo Morrison, 2010 National Literature Prize winner, and will feature Washington Heights as the guest of honor, recognizing its large Dominican community in the U.S. The event, themed “Books connect,” aims to strengthen cultural and literary ties with Dominicans abroad.
Minister of Culture Milagros Germán revealed that the fair will host 61 international guests from 18 countries, with over 500 activities planned, including conferences, concerts, and more. The fair will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the “Seven Days with the People” music event and include 242 representatives from publishing houses. Notable international authors such as Luis García Montero, David Toscana, and Ana María Shua will participate.
This year’s fair will feature 15 pavilions, including returning favorites like the Imagination and Comics Pavilions, as well as new additions like the Narrative Pavilion.
