Indomet forecasts moderate to heavy rainfall

The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) forecast moderate to heavy rains and gusts of wind for today over locations on the north, northeast, and east slopes and the Central Cordillera.

The weather forecaster agency also reported that rainfall would occur in the morning. It will be caused by the remnants of the frontal system and the passage of a trough in the middle and upper levels of the troposphere.

Meteorology said that the most affected provinces will be La Altagracia, San Pedro de Macorís, El Seibo, Monte Plata, Puerto Plata, Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, San Cristóbal, Monseñor Nouel, Hermanas Mirabal, Santiago, Sánchez Ramírez and Duarte.

Indomet predicts that temperatures will remain low due to the time of year, especially in mountainous areas and valleys of the country.

For Greater Santo Domingo, meteorology sometimes predicted cloudy skies with isolated rains. The minimum temperature will be 18 °C and 21 °C, and the maximum will be 29 °C and 31 °C.
