Altice Dominicana unveils ambitious corporate sustainability vision

Santo Domingo.- Altice Dominicana presented its new corporate sustainability strategy under the motto “Conectar nos hace grandes,” reaffirming the company’s dedication to the nation’s development through technology, environmental responsibility and social solidarity.
During the launch event in Santo Domingo, CEO Danilo Ginebra described a three‑pronged approach. He explained that the first pillar, community development through technology, has already translated into 14 social projects over Altice’s first decade in the Dominican Republic. These initiatives—carried out in partnership with 14 local organizations—focus on education and technical training for children, women and young people. “No Dominican should be denied the tools that shape our future,” Ginebra declared, announcing that Altice has expanded its fiber‑optic network and introduced 5G service across the country to meet that goal.
Ginebra then turned to the company’s environmental commitments, highlighting the recently launched RAEE program. This electronic‑waste recycling system establishes a structured process for collecting, sorting and properly disposing of unwanted devices, in alignment with circular‑economy principles. “Our responsibility extends beyond connectivity,” he noted. “We must also safeguard the environment for generations to come.”
The CEO concluded by outlining Altice’s social‑solidarity efforts, including a partnership with JOMPEAME that allows customers to donate their loyalty points—known as fidepuntos—to support Dominicans in need. Ginebra emphasized that this volunteer‑driven platform has already built a community of solidarity around the company’s network.
Among the projects spotlighted at the event were two recent installations: a virtual‑reality lab at the Centro Futuro de Cristo Rey and a telepresence classroom at the Instituto Politécnico Loyola. Altice provided all hardware, fiber‑optic cabling and connectivity services to equip these spaces, which aim to strengthen young people’s technical skills and improve their employment prospects.
As a symbolic close, Altice publicly recognized each of its 14 institutional allies for their partnership in driving positive change across diverse communities. The unveiling concluded with the premiere of Altice’s new corporate commercial, followed by two interview‑style videos now available on the Altice Dominicana YouTube channel, where viewers can learn more about the impact and future plans of these sustainability projects.
