Costa Rica.- During the 59th Ordinary Meeting of the Commission of Migration Authorities of the Central American Integration System (OCAM), the Dominican Republic formally requested a regional discussion on Haiti’s migration crisis and its broader impact. The proposal, presented by Silbestre Espedito Ventura on behalf of the General Directorate of Migration and Vice Admiral Luis Rafael Lee Ballester, calls for a joint statement from OCAM member states.
Given the escalating situation in Haiti, the Dominican delegation emphasized the importance of regional coordination to address potential consequences across Central America and the Caribbean. The OCAM board acknowledged the proposal and committed to submitting it to the appropriate authorities for evaluation.
Held in Costa Rica, the meeting also marked the transition of OCAM’s pro tempore presidency from Costa Rica to Panama, with the Dominican Republic set to assume the role next. OCAM’s decisions, grounded in the Tegucigalpa Protocol and the Central American Social Integration Treaty, are binding for all member states, underscoring its central role in shaping regional migration policies.

seal the border and send them back and problem solved!
I propose taking it a step further- coordinate and collaborate with African nations to have Haitians be repatriated back to their ancestral homeland.
Even better. That way all of QUISQUEYA LA BELLA will belong to us once again and how it was meant to be.
