COE warns of dangerous sea conditions on both coasts
Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) has issued a warning about worsening wave conditions along the Dominican Republic’s coasts due to strong winds, advising against sailing and urging small vessels to remain in port, especially along the Caribbean coast.
The COE reports that these strong winds are expected to continue for the next 48 to 72 hours and pose a particular threat to small and fragile boats between Beata Island and Cayo Pisaje in Pedernales. On the Atlantic coast, from Cabo San Rafael (La Altagracia) to Cabo Cabrón (Samaná), small vessels are also advised to stay in port due to high waves and hazardous conditions. On other coastal areas, the recommendation is to navigate with caution and avoid venturing far out to sea.
