Santo Domingo — The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) reported that it detained 125 Haitians in an irregular situation, following an operation carried out in the Nagua municipality of María Trinidad Sánchez province.
The operation, which covered different areas of the town, resulted in the capture of 55 men, 32 women, and 38 minors who were accompanying their parents or guardians.
“The DGM reaffirmed its commitment to acting firmly and respecting the dignity of those under interdiction and recalled that illegal immigration also causes distortions in the country’s economy and health, in addition to exposing the population to dangers such as exploitation, illicit trafficking, and precarious conditions,” the agency said in a statement.
He also emphasized that the work of Immigration in Nagua and throughout the country also aims to prevent the presence of undocumented immigrants from generating social tensions, facilitating illicit activities, and the misuse of public resources without proper oversight.

its pathetic they only caught those individuals. they should be doing much more than that.
Don’t detain…transport directly to the border and deport.
