U.S. Embassy commends Dominican government for progress in governance
Santo Domingo.- Patricia Aguilera, Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo, commended the Dominican government for recent measures aimed at improving governance, justice, and community protection.
Aguilera highlighted the approval of the new Procurement and Contracting Law 47-25 as a major step toward more transparent and efficient public contracting. She also praised the opening of a specialized anti-human trafficking office in Sosúa, calling it a vital initiative to safeguard lives and combat this serious crime.
Both actions, she stated, reflect important progress in strengthening the country’s institutions and upholding human rights. Her remarks were shared through the U.S. Embassy’s official Instagram account.
