Santiago breaks Guinness Record with world’s largest mofongo

Santiago de los Caballeros.- Santiago de los Caballeros set a new Guinness World Record by preparing the world’s largest mofongo, weighing 556 kilograms (1,226.8 pounds). The feat was officially certified by Guinness judge Susana Reyes in front of thousands of spectators at Central Park.

The record-breaking event took place as part of the “Santiago Inspira” cultural platform, celebrating Dominican unity, culinary identity, and national pride. Over 29 chefs and culinary students collaborated for hours to create the massive version of this traditional dish.
