U.S. launches guide to buying safe property in Dominican Republic

New York.- During an official visit to the United States, Dominican Republic Minister of Housing and Buildings, Carlos Bonilla, presented the “Guide to Safely Acquiring a Home in the Dominican Republic” in New York City. The guide aims to help citizens—particularly those living abroad—navigate the home-buying process, avoid real estate fraud, and understand the legal steps and government support available.

While in New York, Minister Bonilla met with Consul General Jesús Vásquez Martínez and engaged directly with members of the Dominican community to hear their concerns and discuss access to housing for those living overseas.

In Massachusetts, he was honored by the state senate with an official Citation recognizing his leadership in expanding housing access and strengthening international connections. He also visited the Rhode Island State House, where he met with Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos and Senator Ana Quezada to discuss progress on the “Mi Vivienda” housing plan and explore opportunities for greater diaspora participation.

Bonilla further promoted the government’s housing initiatives in a radio interview on “El Tapón de la Tarde,” reinforcing MIVED’s commitment to inclusive, nationwide housing solutions.
