Dominican Republic elected to CSW and UN Women Executive Board
Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX) announced that the Dominican Republic has been elected by acclamation to two prominent United Nations bodies focused on gender equality: the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) and the Executive Board of UN Women.
The country will serve on the CSW from 2026 to 2030, contributing to global efforts to promote women’s rights, gender equality, and empowerment. The CSW is the UN’s leading intergovernmental body dedicated to advancing the status of women worldwide.
Additionally, the Dominican Republic secured a seat on the UN Women Executive Board for the 2026–2028 term. This board oversees and supports initiatives aimed at improving the lives of women and girls across the globe, promoting policies and programs that foster equality and inclusion.
