Dominican Republic unveils modern consulate in Madrid
Madrid, Spain.- The Consul General of the Dominican Republic in Madrid, José Marte Piantini, officially inaugurated the new headquarters of the Consulate General this Friday—an initiative hailed as the most modern within the Dominican Foreign Service. This milestone marks a transformative step in providing quality, dignified, and accessible services to the Dominican diaspora in Europe, addressing needs that had been overlooked for over 50 years.
Located on Avenida de Brasil #6, the new facility was designed as a functional and inclusive space, with modern service systems and barrier-free access for individuals with disabilities. The new consulate now houses multiple government agencies, including the Directorate of Passports, Intrant, the Directorate of Pensions, and the Superior Electoral Tribunal. It also offers guidance for foreigners interested in investing in the Dominican Republic, expanding its reach and relevance to the community.
Serving more than 78,000 registered Dominicans in Madrid alone, the consulate is positioned as a symbol of modern, inclusive diplomacy.
