Abinader announces groundbreaking for new terminal at Las Américas Airport

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader announced that construction of a second terminal at Las Américas International Airport (AILA) will begin on Wednesday, August 13. The expansion is part of the renegotiated contract with Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (Aerodom) and aims to address the growing demand in air traffic and modernize the nation’s airport infrastructure.

During the Corripio Group’s Weekly Luncheon, Abinader emphasized that the deal with Aerodom is funding key infrastructure projects in Santo Domingo, including overpasses and bridges. He also highlighted the formation of a special oversight committee, made up of communicators and experts, such as Rafael Canó and Rafael Maldonado, to ensure transparency and accountability in the use of these resources.
