Duartiano Institute condemns alteration of National Anthem by LGBT group
Santo Domingo.- Wilson Gómez Ramírez, president of the Duartiano Institute, strongly condemned the alteration of the Dominican National Anthem by an LGBT group during a recent event, calling the act a violation of national laws and symbols. He announced plans to formally report the incident to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Gómez Ramírez stated that the institute will pursue legal action under Article 33 of the Constitution and Law 210-19, which regulate the proper use of national symbols. He emphasized the need for an “exemplary sentence” and pledged to monitor the case closely.
The modified anthem has sparked public backlash, with many viewing it as a sign of disrespect to a core symbol of Dominican identity.
