INPOSDOM issues commemorative stamp for International Numismatic Convention

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Postal Institute (INPOSDOM) has released a special edition postage stamp to mark the 5th International Convention of Historians and Numismatists, scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from September 2 to 6, 2025. The initiative, carried out in collaboration with the Dominican Numismatic Society, underscores the country’s active role in promoting historical and cultural heritage on international platforms.

INPOSDOM Director General Erick Guzmán described the stamp as a tribute to the convention, calling it a symbol of the Dominican Republic’s commitment to education, culture, and the preservation of universal historical memory. He also highlighted the significance of numismatics as a scientific discipline that reflects the social, economic, and cultural evolution of nations.

The commemorative issue, limited to 1,500 copies, was officially presented with the participation of INPOSDOM executives, members of the Philatelic Society, cultural representatives, and academic figures. The International Convention, held previously in Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic, brings together experts, collectors, and institutions from Ibero-America to highlight coins, banknotes, medals, and other numismatic objects as vital testimonies of history and culture.
