IDAC launches aviation training program for youth ahead of Oviedo Airport opening

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC), led by Igor Rodríguez Durán, announced a comprehensive training plan for young people in the Pedernales region, coinciding with the upcoming opening of Oviedo Airport. The initiative, through the Higher Academy of Aeronautical Sciences, aims to prepare new talent for careers in various technical areas of aviation.

IDAC will partner with the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), UCATEBA, and Infotep to provide instructors and training facilities. Rodríguez emphasized that even if the number of trained students exceeds immediate job openings, the program will still support the growth of qualified professionals and contribute to community development and national aviation needs.
