INDOMET monitors Tropical Storm Fernand
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET) reported that Tropical Storm Fernand continues to be monitored, but currently poses no threat to the Dominican Republic. As of 7:00 a.m., the storm was located about 950 kilometers south-southeast of Newfoundland, Canada, moving eastward at 19 km/h (12 mph).
Fernand has maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h (45 mph), with stronger gusts, and tropical-storm-force winds extending up to 160 km (100 miles) from its center.
