Survey finds 38% say Dominican Republic’s situation has worsened since last year
Santo Domingo.- A recent survey by the firm SONDEOS, conducted in August 2025, shows a divided perception among Dominicans regarding the country’s current state. According to the poll, 38% of respondents believe the Dominican Republic is worse off than last year, while 34% say it has improved, and 20% consider it unchanged.
The survey, based on a sample of 1,300 people, also examined opinions on economic responsibility. Results revealed that 36% of respondents blame the current government for the nation’s situation, while 34% point to the previous administration.
SONDEOS, recognized for accurately predicting the last election outcome, highlighted that the findings illustrate a sharp division in public opinion over the country’s direction and the handling of economic affairs.
