Dominican and Israeli authorities launch joint risk management training in Israel
Tel Aviv.- The Israeli Embassy in the Dominican Republic, together with the Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance (Mispas), has organized the participation of a Dominican multidisciplinary team in the international course “Emergency Situations Management,” held in Israel from October 19 to 31, 2025. The initiative, supported by Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mispas’s Department of Risk Management and Environmental Health, strengthens cooperation between both nations in emergency health care and disaster response.
The training covers comprehensive aspects of emergency management, including hospital and community response systems, coordination with security forces, and community resilience. Participants will receive theoretical and practical instruction on handling mass casualty incidents, hazardous materials, and hospital organization, while also sharing experiences with Israeli health authorities, rescue teams, and hospitals to enhance national and international crisis response capabilities.
Representatives from several Dominican institutions are taking part, including Mispas, the National Emergency Operations Center (COE), the Directorate of Emergency and Disaster Assistance (DAEH), the Dominican Red Cross, the National Police Hospital, Plaza de la Salud General Hospital, and the Dominican Air Force. The Embassy highlighted that this project deepens bilateral collaboration on public safety and health preparedness, while Mispas emphasized that the knowledge gained will be replicated across the country to improve hospital response plans, rapid action protocols, and inter-institutional coordination.
