Santo Domingo – The inter-school tournament was successfully held in October 2023 with the support of Inefi and shows the great acceptance of golf.
The Dominican Golf Federation launched the “Golf For All” program, which aims to massify the sport in the country and has done so with an inter-institutional agreement with the National Institute of Physical Education (Inefi), which will initiate the impact of golf in schools.
This will be Fedogolf’s most important project this year. Enrique Valverde, from Fedogol, and Alberto Rodríguez, from Inefi, signed the agreement.
Together with Inefi, golf will be inserted in the physical education proposal of the schools, implementing a structure that will include weekly visits to schools for training and approach to golf, specialized equipment for golf initiation, and certified coaches and monitors for teaching this sport.
The program aims to impact an average of 8 schools per month, about 80 children per week, for a total of 400 per month, which will ensure the knowledge of the sport and the identification of potential and great talents, integrating children and adolescents of diverse economic possibilities to the practice of the sport.
“This is just the beginning of the project that, in the school phase, covers more than three important pillars and that counts on a great projection of growth at national level. The best in any sport are forged from childhood and at this stage hand in hand with education.”
