Dominican racer Jimmy Llibre claims podium at Watkins Glen in Porsche Carrera Cup North America

Watkins Glen, NY.- Dominican talent Jimmy Llibre delivered a standout performance this weekend at Watkins Glen, not only climbing onto the podium with a third-place finish in Race 1 but also clinching third overall in the weekend standings of the Porsche Carrera Cup North America.
From the first practice session, Llibre set the pace, demonstrating the skill and composure that have defined his international career. In Race 1, he battled through a competitive field to cross the line in third place, earning himself a hard-fought P3 and valuable championship points.
In Race 2, Llibre stormed off the grid, challenging for the lead into Turn 1. Although a late-race rear-end contact dented his momentum, he fought back to finish the weekend still standing third overall in the standings. That resilience leaves him well positioned as the series heads into its fourth round.
“Thank God for every step on this journey,” Llibre said after the checkered flag. “I am deeply grateful to my sponsors for their trust and constant support. This project wouldn’t be possible without you all. We stay focused—there’s more to come!”
With the championship tightly contested and the season only just underway, Llibre’s back-to-back podiums serve notice that he will remain a serious contender for the title. As the Porsche Carrera Cup North America heads south for its next round, eyes will be on this rising Dominican star.
