David Ortiz excited for 2025 Cibao Series at Citi Field

New York.- Cooperstown Hall of Famer and Latin Events shareholder David Ortiz expressed his excitement for the upcoming Cibao Series during a press conference this Thursday at Citi Field, which will host the event in November.

“Personally, I’m very excited. I’m from the capital, my team is Escogido, but I feel like I’m from Cibao for so many reasons,” Ortiz said. He praised Cibao for preserving its essence over the years, calling it a source of pride. Ortiz also lauded the collaboration between LIDOM, participating teams, and Latin Events to officially include the series in the league schedule. “This series is one of the best for many reasons: the games count and have a different value than in previous years,” he noted.

The Cibao Series will take place November 7–9, 2025, at Citi Field, featuring the Aguilas Cibaeñas versus the Gigantes del Cibao competing for the 2025 Grand NY Cup. The event aims to bring Dominican baseball and Cibao culture to the Dominican community in New York.
