Senate and LIDOM sign agreement to promote sports

Santo Domingo.- The Senate of the Dominican Republic and the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) signed an inter-institutional cooperation agreement on Monday aimed at strengthening sports, civic education, national identity, and the social and economic development linked to baseball.

Under the agreement, the Senate will promote legislative discussions and public policies focused on sports and youth development, provide institutional spaces and logistical support for educational initiatives, issue recognitions to outstanding figures in the baseball community, and participate in communication campaigns that position baseball as a driver of unity and progress.

For its part, LIDOM will include the Senate as an ally in its events and platforms, collaborate on training and social initiatives for young people, share information on its programs and seasons, and integrate Senate-supported activities into its official calendar.

As part of the ceremony, Ricardo de los Santos threw the first pitch at the Tigres del Licey vs. Águilas Cibaeñas game at Estadio Quisqueya Juan Marichal, accompanied by senators, LIDOM executives, and other prominent sports leaders.
