Air Europa sponsors Dominican Republic national football teams

Santo Domingo.- In a landmark move for the development of football in the Dominican Republic, the National Football Teams Commission and Air Europa have signed a strategic agreement that strengthens the ties between both entities.

The agreement was signed by Manuel Estrella, President of the National Football Teams Commission, and Juan José (Pepe) Hidalgo, President of Air Europa, with the presence of the Vice President of the Dominican Republic, Raquel Peña, serving as the guest of honor.

Under this partnership, Air Europa becomes a Premium sponsor of the Dominican Republic’s National Football Teams (Sedofutbol), offering preferential flight conditions to Dominican players residing in Europe who travel to the Dominican Republic for international team commitments.

This agreement marks a significant milestone in solidifying Dominican football as it faces major upcoming challenges, including its historic first participation in the CONCACAF Gold Cup. It also reflects the sustained growth of Dominican football, which has already achieved remarkable successes such as participation in two FIFA World Cups (Men’s U-20 and Women’s U-17), the Paris 2024 Olympics, promotion to League A of the CONCACAF Nations League, and historic qualification for the men’s Gold Cup.

Ensuring the efficient logistics and mobility of players is crucial for the national team to compete at the highest levels and continue reaching significant milestones on the international stage.

Through this agreement, Air Europa not only facilitates player transportation but also reinforces its commitment to sports development in the Caribbean. The sponsorship solidifies the airline as a key partner in propelling Dominican football onto the international scene.
