President Abinader arrives in Guyana to speak at International Energy Conference

Cooperative Republic of Guyana.- President Luis Abinader arrived in the Cooperative Republic of Guyana on a private flight, landing at the Eugene F. Correia Airport in Georgetown at 6:25 p.m. He was seen off earlier by high-ranking officials, including the Minister of Defense and leaders from the Dominican Republic Air Force and Presidential Guard.
Upon arrival, President Abinader is scheduled to meet with Guyanese President Mohamed Irfaan Ali for bilateral discussions. The following day, the Dominican leader will give a speech at the opening of a conference, tour the event’s pavilions, and attend a lunch hosted by President Ali.
The president will conclude his visit with a tour of the newly inaugurated Dominican Republic Embassy in Georgetown. This marks Abinader’s second visit to Guyana, following the signing of a comprehensive agreement between the two nations in August 2023, focusing on energy, agriculture, infrastructure, tourism, security, and industry. The president is accompanied by a delegation, including key ministers and security officials.
