Dominican Republic prepares suit in Spanish train death
Santo Domingo.- Prominent Spanish jurist Baltasar Garzón and former Dominican Justice minister Radhames Jimenez prepare a lawsuit against individuals and companies liable in last week’s train derailment in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, which killed Dominican official Rosalina Ynoa.
To establish responsibilities the lawsuit would name the train’s conductor, the railway company and others, including the Spanish crown.
Jiménez said Garzon’s law office proceeds according to Spanish legislation on the suit, which seeks compensation for damages caused to the Dominican official’s family.
Quoted by listin.com.do, Jimenez said the Dominican State would empower the Dominican embassy in Spain to represent it in a possible civil case.
