AERODOM denies US$550M bond violates airports contract

Santo Domingo.- the company which manages Dominican Republic’s State-owned airports on Wednesday said its US$550 million bond doesn’t violate the concession contract and isn’t guaranteed by the agreement’s assets, which do require the government’s and the Airport Commission’s authorization.

AERODOM said it complies with all contract commitments to manage six major airports and is always open to collaborate and clarify any doubts which any government agency might have.

The company’s statement comes just one day after Senate Security and Defense Commission chairman Carlos Castillo questioned the bond issue.

In that regard, AERODOM acknowledged writing in November 2012, a US$550 million bond in the capital markets, backed by its parent companies.
