Trail of bullet-riddled bodies signals escalating gang war

San Cristóbal.- Dominican Republic’s National Police today revealed the discovery of yet another bullet-riddled body in a sugarcane field Friday morning, next to the community where three others were found last week in apparent gangland executions.

The body of the man of around 25 years of age has yet to be identified, but it’s believed to be that of the fugitive known only as “Maestrico,” alleged murderer of the also hired killer Juan Cordero Febles (Copelin).

The body was found near the village of La Jagua, of the town Yaguate, near the site where the others were dumped.

Police also investigate possible links between Cordero’s execution with another body found near the city of San Pedro on Thursday, as well as to the three bodies found last week in the San Cristobal sector Los Reyes.
