Dominican Republic assumes pro tempore presidency of COMTELCA

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic assumed the pro tempore presidency of the Regional Technical Commission for Telecommunications (COMTELCA) for 2024-2025 during the 158th ordinary meeting of the Board of Directors of this Central American integration body.

Nelson Arroyo, President of the Board of Directors of Indotel, expressed that this new role signifies a commitment to promoting cooperation among Central American nations in various telecommunications sectors and working collaboratively towards common goals.

“In this new chapter, we in the Dominican Republic reaffirm our commitment to move forward, to innovate, to adapt to changes in the technological environment and to continue building bridges that strengthen connectivity and development in our region,” Arroyo emphasized.

He also extended gratitude to Lorenzo Sauceda, the outgoing president who represented Honduras, for his leadership and contributions to COMTELCA’s mission over the past year, aiding in the sector’s progress and the organization’s consolidation.

COMTELCA is comprised of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, and the Dominican Republic.
