Danilo Díaz describes Abinader’s speech as “a spectacle”

Danilo Díaz

Santo Domingo – The deputy for the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Danilo Díaz, described as “a spectacle” the speech offered by President Luis Abinader during the swearing-in ceremony for a second and final term as president of the Republic.

He said that in the act carried out at the National Theater, the unfulfilled promises were seen, and now there are new promises that will not be fulfilled.

“Really, in these four years, what we have is a situation in a country that is in worse condition than how he found it,” he said, listing what he considers to be the main problems in the country.

The Dominican family today has 3 thousand pesos less in their real purchasing power than they had when receiving the administration. We have not recovered the formal employment that was delivered in 2019. The only country in all of America that has not recovered employment is us. There has been an increase in employment. Do you know where it is? In the public sector. We have more than 100,000 public employees,” he explained.

The former sports minister explained that thousands of children cannot register at school, so parents have to constantly call people who can help them with the registration process.

“Infant mortality has grown, and maternal mortality has grown too, so I don’t understand what they are talking about. That is why I tell you that everything he has said is a great show; it is a whole theater,” he said, assuring me that he was speaking based on official data.

“As far as the electricity sector is concerned, it is the great shame. We left the subsidy practically resolved. And what happened to the subsidy? Today it has skyrocketed more than ever, they seem to be on their way to wanting to privatize the entire sector. In other words, we have a country that when you measure in which indicators we have improved, you realize that in none,” Díaz concluded.

Everything that man said was correct. But a PLD did the same things .
