6th edition of HUB Cámara Santo Domingo 2024 inaugurated
Santo Domingo.- The Santo Domingo Chamber of Commerce inaugurated the sixth edition of HUB Cámara Santo Domingo 2024 at the Hotel Embajador in Santo Domingo, a major multisectoral business event in the Caribbean. The event, which runs from September 3 to 5, was opened by Vice President Raquel Peña, who emphasized its importance as a major platform for business growth and strategic alliances. She highlighted the government’s commitment to economic transformation, noting that the Dominican Republic has become an attractive destination for business and investment, thanks to policies promoting collaboration between the public and private sectors.
Lucile Houellemont, president of the Santo Domingo Chamber of Commerce, underscored the event’s role in driving economic development and innovation. This year’s theme, “The Power of Artificial Intelligence in Business,” reflects the focus on new technologies as a catalyst for growth. Keynote speaker Rana El Kaliouby, an expert in AI, and other notable speakers like Nicolás Uribe and Juan Alzate, will address vital topics such as digital transformation and business dynamics in Latin America. The event also introduced the “Women’s Pavilion,” celebrating the contributions of women in various business sectors and reaffirming the Chamber’s commitment to gender equality.
Co-organizer Biviana Riveiro Disla of ProDominicana announced the coordination of Business Roundtables, with 140 international buyers from 32 markets and 170 national exporters participating. This initiative is part of a broader market diversification strategy, engaging key partners such as the United States, Spain, and China. The event will feature a comprehensive agenda of conferences, exhibitions, and networking opportunities at the Hotel Embajador, with organizers aiming to surpass the success of previous editions and set new benchmarks in trade promotion and business collaboration.
