Dominican students head to Bolivia for 39th Ibero-American Mathematical Olympiad

Santo Domingo.- A group of talented Dominican students departed yesterday for Tarija, Bolivia, to represent the country in the 39th Ibero-American Mathematics Olympiad, held from September 19 to 25.

The event will bring together the top young mathematicians from 22 Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking nations. The Dominican team consists of Ananda María Velez Pérez, Emil Alejandro Peralta Cabrera, Enmanuel Starlin Germosén De los Santos, and Juan Ignacio Melo Abreu, all of whom have undergone rigorous training for this prestigious competition, the most significant in the Ibero-American mathematical community.

Bolivia is hosting the Olympiad for the second time, having previously done so in 2012. The Dominican students have received support from the Ministry of Education (Minerd), the Honorary Consulate of Bolivia in the Dominican Republic, and the Foreign Ministries of both nations. The students, expressing their gratitude to their families and teachers, are eager to represent the country and aim to make the Dominican Republic proud on the international stage.
