Luis Abinader among the most highly rated presidents in the Americas

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader ranks among the most highly approved leaders in the Americas, securing a 68% approval rating in the 2025 American President Approval Ranking by Mitofsky. This places him tied for second place with Mexico’s Claudia Sheinbaum, though she has only been in office for four months, compared to Abinader’s 54 months.

The only leader surpassing Abinader is El Salvador’s Nayib Bukele, who holds an 81% approval rating. The Dominican president’s popularity is attributed to his experience and the country’s social and economic stability. Other polls, such as RD Elige (66.8%) and Gallup RCC (56%), further reinforce his strong public support.

Among leaders who have been in office for over four years, Abinader and Bukele lead in approval ratings, demonstrating the confidence their citizens have in their governance.
