Dominican Republic defeats Nicaragua 84-65 in AmeriCup qualifiers

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic secured an 84-65 victory over Nicaragua in Santo Domingo, finishing with a 4-2 record in Group C of the 2025 AmeriCup qualifiers. Despite the win, their advancement depends on the outcome of the Mexico-Canada match, with Canada needing to win or Mexico winning by fewer than 18 points.

The game started strong for the Dominicans, with Jean Montero and Ángel Delgado dominating early. Victor Liz and DJ Figueroa added three-pointers, keeping Nicaragua on the defensive. Although Nicaragua’s Jared Ruiz and Francisco Garth provided some resistance, the Dominicans controlled most of the game.
