Extensive security measures planned for 2025 National Carnival Parade
Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Culture (MINC), in coordination with state security agencies, will implement a large-scale security operation for the 2025 National Carnival Parade on Sunday, March 23, at 2:00 p.m. along the Santo Domingo boardwalk. This year’s event honors the province of San Cristóbal and will feature over 150 groups from across the country.
More than 1,200 personnel from the Ministry of Defense, National Police, and various relief agencies will be deployed to ensure public safety. Security forces will include the Dominican Navy, Air Force, Army, Preventive Police, and Tourist Police, alongside DIGESETT and Municipal Police. Additional support will come from Civil Defense, the Red Cross, emergency response teams, and the Fire Department.
Authorities will station officers along George Washington Avenue and key areas to prevent congestion and facilitate emergency access. Agencies such as INTRANT, 911, and Dominican Naval Auxiliaries will provide technical support to maintain order and rapid response throughout the event.
