Santo Domingo.- The National Commission for the Defense of Competition (Pro-Competencia), in collaboration with SELA, the OECD, and The George Washington University, will host the 2nd International Forum on Gender and Competition in the Dominican Republic. The event, scheduled for Thursday, June 26 at the Catalonia Hotel, aims to explore how competition policy can be aligned with a gender perspective to promote equal market opportunities for women.
The forum will focus on how competitive markets can reduce entry barriers for female entrepreneurs, eliminate discriminatory practices, and encourage inclusive economic growth. Panels will cover topics such as market structure impacts on female entrepreneurship, competition policies through a gender lens, data-driven market monitoring, and gender compliance in corporate practices. Participants include leading professionals from government, academia, international organizations, and the private sector.
