Punta Cana.- Sources close to Punta Cana International Airport have denied recent claims by the Dominican Association of Tourist Transporters regarding an alleged “abusive” increase in parking fees, clarifying that only minor adjustments have been made to free parking time limits.
According to airport representatives, the facility still offers free parking, though the courtesy time was slightly reduced—marking the first update to parking policies since before the COVID-19 pandemic. Large buses now receive 90 free minutes (down from 120), while small vehicles have 60 minutes (previously 90). After that, fees of RD$80 for large buses and RD$40 for small vehicles apply per additional half-hour.
Officials emphasized that the airport’s free parking policy is still generous compared to other airports in the region and that the changes are aimed at improving traffic flow and reducing congestion, not penalizing transport operators.

So now they clog up the parking at Nacional. Foe every one shopper, there are 3 tourist vans.
