Santo Domingo Metro Line 1 to add 5 elevated stations
Santo Domingo.- Transport Reform Office (Opret) director Manuel Antonio Saleta on Tuesday announced an extension of five elevated stations for the Santo Domingo Metro Line 1, including new trains.
After laying a wreath at the Altar de la Patria, the head of Opret said the new trains will be in service as of 2020, increasing their capacity for commuters on the north-south route mostly on Maximo Gomez Av.
The project includes the acquisition of 72 cars, of which 18 are already being manufactured, and could include some 24 more this year.
