27 companies acquire BASC certification
Santo Domingo.- The local chapter of the Business Alliance for Secure Commerce (BASC Dominicana) on Tues. accredited 27 companies for compliance with its international protection norms and standards, which promote a culture of safety in local and international commerce activities, to minimize the risk of smuggling, illegal trafficking and other crimes in the supply chain.
The certifications were given at the Intercontinental Hotel by US embassy minister advisor and interim commercial attaché Robert Copley; Basc Dominicana president July de la Cruz, and, chapter certification committee president Carlos Saillant.
The activity included recognitions to outstanding institutions in the Management System of Control and Security (SGCS), which obtained the first certification in the new norm and international standard BASC Version 5-2017, to those certified for more than 5 and 10 years and other awards for proactive and outstanding maintenance in those certifications.
