DGII ends the 2024-2025 tag campaign: more than one million 700 thousand renewed

More than 90% of the taxpayers renewed on time, demonstrating their commitment as citizens.

The General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII) reported that, as of 5:00 pm this January 31, 1,702,009 marbetes (vehicle registration tags) had been renewed for a collection of RD$2,835,408,000, equivalent to more than 90% of the goal established for the current 2024-2025 season.

A total of 1,893,024 vehicles were eligible to renew this season with an estimated collection of RD$3,137,673,000.00.

Of this total of renewed tags, 1,502,907 were done through financial entities, 154,882 via internet (web portal and the DGII mobile App) and 44,220 through two of the institution’s collection points.

The renewal period started last October 22, 2024. For online sales, it ended on January 19. While, in the financial intermediation entities the term is until January 31, without surcharges.

Once the official period is over, the marbete will continue to be sold in the 49 authorized financial entities and in the collection offices of Villa Vásquez, Montecristi province, and Sánchez, Samaná province during the whole month of February with the corresponding surcharge.

The values of the Vehicle Circulation Tax (marbete) remain unchanged in relation to the previous period:

RD$1,500.00 for vehicles manufactured until 2019.

RD$3,000.00 for vehicles manufactured from 2020 onwards.

To carry out the renewal at any of the available entities, it is indispensable to possess the photocopy of the registration of the vehicle to be renewed, updated, legible and in good condition.

Penalties:

The amounts corresponding to the penalties for non-renewal during the established term are maintained:

RD$2,000.00 (surcharge) to vehicles not renewing before January 31, 2025.
RD$2,100.00 to vehicles that did not renew the marbete 2023-2024 (RD$2,000.00 for non-renewal penalty + RD$100.00 for administrative cessation).
RD$3,100.00 for vehicles that did not renew the 2022-2023 tag and previous years (RD$3,000.00 for non-renewal penalty + RD$100.00 for administrative cessation).

Now…instruct law enforcement to ENFORCE this requirement starting with those dangerous mini cycles all over the roads that do not pay any attention to laws or safety.
